When Choose DuPage, an economic development group, asked my team to create a Chicagoland talent attraction campaign, I had one demand:

No deep dish. Seriously, we’re all tired of hearing about it. Tavern style is superior, anyway.

Rather than focusing on the “iconic” Chicago stuff you see on TV, our ChicaGOland campaign is all about the everyday stuff: the messy and beautiful patchwork of neighborhoods, the amazing local food, the weird and wonderful people — and, of course, the energy.

Because when you’re in Chicagoland, things are different. There’s a spark, a vibe, an intangible somethin’-something’ that makes you turn to your friend and say: “Let’s Go.” (Your friend might say, “What are you talking about?” To which you’ll reply: “I don’t know. But for some reason I really want to visit ChooseDuPage.com/Chicagoland”)
